This project was developed for the course 5D Fundamentals at Northeastern University. The class was heavily focused on psychogeography, or the exploration of urban environments with an emphasis on playfulness. Click here or on the phone to experience the project.
The assignment was to create an experience for a user to follow within the University area, something that would guide them to discover new things while also seeing familiar objects in a new light. After the project was assigned, I was walking through campus and I started to read a plaque that described the history of the building that my next class was in. It provided insight into the buildings identity and gave me an appreciation for the history of the school.
This became the concept for my project idea and I started to gather the necessary requirements to create a walking tour through the school's history, centered around finding informational plaques that were scattered around campus. This was also my introduction to HTML and CSS, and while it wasn't part of the project to actually develop the idea, I decided to use my new skills to create the experience that I had designed (although simple in code, it is functional!).
